Postcard from Los Angeles
So I was in LA last week. Not entirely for pleasure (and not for business either). But I did get to squeeze in a few foodie trips. Went to visit a few (among what seems like hundreds) of cousins and also some notable places.
Presented in true Jimmy fashion…

My favorite for many, many years — the über-popular Porto’s. Cuban. Three visits in one week. The best cheese rolls. You haven’t had them? Then you haven’t lived.

My shortest wait in line in many years was 45 minutes. On this trip: 1 hour 20 minutes. The line is constantly long no matter what time of day (like the freeway traffic). Worth the wait? The snap tells it all.

Third and Fairfax. This farmers market is huge. Huge. So many stalls. So many eateries. Sadly so little time.

Cream puffs. Cream puffs!!!

Little Tokyo. At a ramen-ya that’s been around for over 30 years. (Sorry Troy, too bad I couldn’t go to LA’s best but you already know why.)
Lastly… 27 dimsum dishes for 3 people. Yummy.
I also went to a lot of mom-and-pop ethnic places and ate from food trucks all over the city, cupcake places, numerous bakeries, and In-n-Out. But that is all. Back in the A. But bound for DC later this week.

the little one is a regular lemon
Oops… I almost forgot. My aunt has Meyer lemon trees. Took home a couple. The lemons were bigger than my head. Seriously.
Oh, and last (promise, this is the last)… I’d like to thank Avis for my $15/day rental and my (almost) $500 speeding ticket — “Officer, there is no way you could have followed me and clocked me at 110+ mph.” (Actual speed will remain a secret to protect my guilt.) That 2012 Mustang GT V8 5.0 (fully loaded) with only 8 miles on it was such a sweet ride. And went from 0-100 in 10 seconds flat
