Popping Bubbles @ Mama Jins
If there’s anything at all you must try… get… taste here at Mama Jins, it’s none other than their yogurt smoothies. With exploding pearls! First, they’re extremely refreshing — fresh fruit blended in creamy yogurt smoothness. They’re not your typical ultra thick versions. These are smooth and go up your straw really well. My favorite is the Mango Tango: mangoes, peaches, oranges. They’re literally crack. Addicting is an understatement. Thanks to the popping bubbles that you can add to them. What are they? They’re flavor bombs. Assorted fruit juice enveloped in a sphere made of a thin membrane resembling plastic. You bite into them and they explode in your mouth. Get the passion fruit pearls. So fun. So awesome. Oh and it’s the only place where you can get them.
Hungry? Combo 1 will get your fill. It comes with a big bowl of black bean noodles (my favorite noodles, jajangmyeon), chicken wings, and fried dumplings. And although they may not serve the best jajangmyeon there is, the OH! Mama sauce for the wings and gyoza will definitely make you a fan of this place.
I’ve been here four days in a row for the smoothies. I’ve also tried the Jazzy Pineapple (pineapples, strawberries, bananas), Very Berry (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas), and Citrus Serenade (strawberries, oranges). They’re all so good. But Mango Tango rules. Go now.

I saw on 4sq that you were there again today! I really need to check this place out – I need my fix. I’ve been making a lot of smoothies myself but the bubble thing sounds interesting.

These juice poppers, while I’ve never seen them in a drink like this, are a staple at the topping bar of pretty much every self-serve frozen yogurt restaurant in town (and always seem to come in only passion fruit or mango).
