Taste of Atlanta 2007

I don’t know about you but I really had a great time at this past weekend’s Taste of Atlanta. Of course, it helped that the weather was just absolutely beautiful. And of course, Rocco. Sexy, hottie Rocco. I spent a good two hours of the entire festival on Rocco DiSpirito… first at his cooking show. Then onto his book signing.

This year’s festival was a lot more well-organized than before. Atlantic Station is the perfect venue, although I could see a major problem if ever it rains. Good thing the weather cooperated. I like that there are several places where you can get entrance tickets or purchase additional food coupons. There were a good mix of restaurants participating this year. And I’m glad to see lots of beverage stations. The only suggestion I have is that they should extend the hours longer. There were simply too many great things going on at the same time that choosing to go to one event over the other was just difficult. Case in point: I was stuck in Rocco’s book signing line that I couldn’t go to Ted Allen’s demo (I did catch the last 5 minutes of his show).
There were so many people attending (which was a great thing) that a number of participating restaurants ran out of food early. Most restaurants did not anticipate the overwhelming number of attendees that people waited in line while they cooked more food. Lines got too long that it was impossible to try even half of the participating restaurants in one day. All in all, I really had a great time. It is such a festive event no one should ever miss.
